Some 1st, 3rd, and 4th-grade students had the opportunity to interact with a group of school children from Cody Elementary School in NC, USA. The purpose of this activity was to answer questions about Chilean culture and let them know about the Instituto de Humanidades’ school system.
The activity was led by Miss Mariana Palma (former IHC teacher) in the USA and our bilingual team Miss Lea Hitt, Mr. Max, and – 1st-grade teacher Miss Carolina Cid.
We are pleased to have this cultural exchange. As a bilingual institution, we strongly believe that online cultural exchange meetings for elementary students have numerous benefits, ranging from promoting cultural understanding to developing important skills and attitudes necessary for living in an increasingly interconnected world.
In the following weeks, IHC students will have the opportunity to host the 2nd cultural exchange with students from the US.
